Taking Stock | February ‘18

MAKING some time this evening to write this post while Allan puts Arlo to bed.

COOKING some warming porridge for breakfast these cold mornings.

DRINKING lots of strong ‘builders’ tea to get me through the days.

READING Home Style, Style at Home and Your Home magazines for some home decor inspiration.

WANTING a spring time wreath for my front door. I am in LOVE with this tulip wreath I spotted on Instagram.

LOOKING at too many lovely things from Sainsbury’s Helsinki collection. I was delighted to get my hands on the lovely wooden date block but have my eye on a few other things too!

PLAYING my workout playlist while I run, walk, run…

DECIDING to get the Hygena Shelving Unit from Argos instead of saving up my pennies for the Darcey Shelves from MADE. And am pretty pleased with my bargain.

ENJOYING catching up with family at Arlo’s birthday on Saturday. I can’t believe my baby is 2!

WAITING on my new orange metal trunk arriving. It will sit on the new shelving unit in the living room and probably house all of Arlo’s building blocks or toy cars.

LIKING looking out to thick white snow and Allan working from home because of this.

WONDERING when I’ll get back out for a run. Last week I started exercising again after a long break and a lot of weight gain. I decided to give running another shot so started running to a lamppost, then walking to the next and so on. I’ve been out 3 times in the past week and was supposed to be going out again tonight but the thick snow has scuppered my plans.

LOVING Arlo’s playroom. We had moved him back to his little nursery where he has been sleeping better and have turned his big boy room into a playroom. It’s great to have another room in the house to store all the toys instead of them all being in the living room.

PONDERING buying another knitting machine and some yarn. I miss making something from nothing.

CONSIDERING a summer holiday. We haven’t been away anywhere together for ages so have been discussing different options. Stay in the UK or go abroad with a 2 year old?

WATCHING Kirsty and Phill’s Love It or List It.

HOPING that my scheduled surgery on 21st goes ahead as planned to get it over and done with.

MARVELLING at how deep the snow is right now.

NEEDING some new makeup. I’ve just ordered a few necessities from Boots – Clinique’s Chubby in the Nude Foundation stick, High Impact Waterproof Mascara and Benefit’s Bo-ing.

SMELLING my clean washing drying next to me. My desk is currently sandwiched between two clothes airers.

WEARING my new LOVE breton for the first time on Arlo’s birthday.

FOLLOWING Tigerlilly Quinn and her lovely little family on Instagram and You Tube.

NOTICING that my skin is really dry at the moment.

KNOWING that I really should be moisturising my dry limbs. The trouble is I never have a bath anymore where I would previously have pampered myself. I now grab a quick shower in the mornings and have no time to cover myself in body lotion.

THINKING I might go downstairs after this and make myself some toast and peanut butter instead of the packet of crisps I crave.

ADMIRING this yellow HELLO coat rack but wonder where I would put it.

BUYING myself a new print by Anna Kovecses.

GETTING Arlo’s nursery form filled out.

DISLIKING the fact that I haven’t written a blog post in a whole month.

OPENING the door to silence now my boy is asleep.

GIGGLING at Young Sheldon.

FEELING pretty tired tonight. It’s been a long day being stuck indoors.

SNACKING sugar snap peas and carrots with hummus today.

COVETING a new raincoat for spring. I love Seasalt Cornwall for a waterproof and have my eye on their green Bowsprit Jacket to see me through the next few seasons.

WISHING I was a few dress sizes smaller.

HELPING Arlo to walk upstairs. He isn’t a fan of crawling and I’m trying not to lift him too much.

HEARING ‘carry me’ – Arlo’s favourite saying at the moment!

What have you been up to this month? I hope February has been good to you.
