Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week. With it being January, I quite fancy making a few changes here on the blog. I feel like trying something new and connecting with fellow bloggers. So, instead of my One + Four = Life posts, each week I will be taking part in the #littleloves linkup hosted by Coffee Work Sleep Repeat. #littleloves is a chance for me to reflect on the week gone by, take a look back at the pictures I’ve taken and remember special moments that are all too easily forgotten.
I didn’t get up to much at the weekend. I was in hibernation mode, sheltering from the wind and rain. It’s been so cold and dreary yet again this week. Typical January in Scotland! I was feeling pretty rotten to be honest – 8 months pregnant and very uncomfortable so I spent the weekend curled up on the couch with my winter pjs, wooly socks and Netflix! The perfect lazy weekend.
Here are a few of my #littleloves of the week gone by…
R E A D . . .New to me magazine The Simple Things, all about taking the time to live well. So different to my usual monthly fashion or interiors magazines, The Simple Things celebrates slowing down, enjoying what you have, making the most of where you live, enjoying the company of friends and family and feeding them well. I can’t wait to try out some of the mouth watering recipes. How good does this orange poppy seed cake look? Also… at my sister’s this week and I discovered beautiful childrens’ book When I Was Born. Written by Isabel Minhos Martins and illustrated by Madalena Matoso, it is such a delightful story about discovering the world for the first time. I just love picture books for children and already have quite a good collection for my visiting nieces.
And… They Should Have Warned Me, such a heart warming article about becoming a mother for the first time.
W A T C H E D . . . Travel Man: 48 hours in… Copenhagen with the lovely (and handsome) Richard Ayoade and Noel Fielding. I really enjoyed watching and remembering the stylish city I visited over a decade ago. Having visited for only a weekend, Copenhagen is a place I would definitely love to return to.
And… we watched Baby McAleavy kicking and elbowing me in the belly this week. We had our 34 week scan on Tuesday which showed baby healthy, well and kicking. It was so amazing to see our little one again. I can’t believe we have only 5 weeks until we meet in person!

M A D E . . .
Made some time to meet up with long lost friends this week. On Monday I met up with old friends Kerri and Sinead. It had been so long since we had saw each other, so good to catch up with all their news and hear the gossip about the new men in their lives! Kerri had recommended Martha’s for lunch – a great discovery. Martha’s is a new healthy eating spot in Glasgow serving healthy, delicious superfood salads, smoothies and yummy gluten free cakes and treats.
Also… I made a trip to The Lighthouse to catch the Paul Smith exhibition. Being very pregnant, my trips into the city are few and far between so I like to make the most of it and fit in as much as I can.And.. I cannot take a trip to Glasgow without visiting my favourite coffee shop Tinderbox in Princess Square. Such a cool wee spot to sit, read the latest issue of Stylist and watch the world go by.
W O R E . . . I’ve been wearing my ASOS maternity dresses pretty much non stop for the past 6 months. They are so comfortable and easy to wear and nice and cool. Having a little furnace inside me, I have not needed to wear any winter knitwear at all.
Also… my current favourite necklace. This was actually a present for my sister, from a visit to the ICA Boston, but she never wears so I ‘borrowed’ it back! And… I’m keeping my beloved Marni perfume for special occasions now that I’m reunited with Daisy Eau So Fresh – my perfect scent for everyday.
A N D L A S T L Y . . .
Allan and I are making the most of our time as ‘just us.’ We’re going to go into Glasgow this weekend for some food. I’m thinking pizza. We also quite fancy a trip to the cinema – our last for quite a while.
And… I’m catching up with my cousin Marianne on Sunday. She lives in Liverpool so we rarely see each other anymore. It will be the last time I see her before I become a mama! We’ve planned to go for afternoon tea and I’m looking forward to a good old chinwag.

What about you? Any plans for the weekend? How was your week?
